Music from The Western Reserve seeks to meld the great wealth of musical talent found in Northeast Ohio with the rich, historic tradition of the area.
Vision Statement, MfTWH
In the fall of 1983, an exciting new series of chamber music was inaugurated, and on September 26th of that year the Cuyahoga Valley Arts Ensemble performed before an enthusiastic audience in the Music Room at Stan Hywet in Akron. Nineteen seasons later on September 29, 2002, this critically acclaimed chamber music series took up residence in The Chapel on the campus of Western Reserve Academy. Beginning with the 2010 – 2011 season, Music from The Western Reserve has added Christ Church Episcopal as its performance venue. Christ Church offers superior acoustical properties and is the ideal setting for chamber music concerts.
“Music from The Western Reserve is committed to fostering future generations of music lovers and performers by continuing its tradition of presenting high quality performances given by Northeast Ohio’s outstanding musicians for the benefit and enjoyment of Northeast Ohio residents and visitors. In addition, we aspire to collaborate with other arts organizations to offer dynamic experiences and to broaden our appeal to audiences.”
